Turnstones, Surfbird and Phalaropes

Most of these photos were taken near San Diego, California. Turnstones and surfbirds frequent rocky beaches, while phalaropes usually stay offshore during the winter months. The phalarope in this gallery was probably blown in to shore by a strong storm the night before.
