Tanagers, Sparrows and Finches

This gallery features two of North America’s most beautifully plumaged birds—the Western Tanager and the Black-headed Grosbeak. Interestingly, both have songs that are often mistaken for that of the American Robin. I know summer has truly arrived in Vancouver when I can hear all three species singing at once!
