Otters, Weasels, and Badgers

This gallery includes two of my all-time favorite mammal encounters. The Pacific Marten images were taken of an animal I observed in North Vancouver, near my home. I believe this to have been a very rare sighting, as I have lived in North Vancouver my entire life and hiked the local forest trails hundreds of times, but only ever seen this one individual. The first time I saw him, I was on a walk with my wife but did not have my camera. A later revisit to the area blessed me with a second encounter, and this time I had my gear.

The Pine Marten photos were taken of an animal I found in Jasper National Park. Fresh snow gave him away by his tracks, but it took four solid days of tracking and searching to finally find him.
