Bushtit, Nuthatches and Creepers

Nuthatches and creepers are aptly named. Nuthatches wedge nuts and seeds into tree bark and return later to hammer them open when food is scarce, while creepers move methodically along trunks and branches, probing the bark for hidden insects. Bushtits, by contrast, are tiny, hyperactive birds that travel in tight flocks, flitting rapidly from tree to tree.
